
Ethereum Foundation PhD Fellowship Program
The Ethereum Foundation is offering a PhD Fellowship Program to support Ethereum-related academic research led by current PhD students. This program provides a stipend of $24,000 USD over one year to supplement existing stipends, with 9–10 fellowships awarded in total. The fellowship aims to expand Ethereum-related academic research across multiple disciplines, encouraging innovative proposals that generate meaningful insights for the Ethereum ecosystem.
Disciplines of interest include economics, political science, business, public policy, computer science, urban planning, and sociology. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students to advance research at the intersection of technology, economics, governance, and society through the lens of the Ethereum ecosystem.
Eligibility
Applicants must be actively enrolled in a PhD program. Research must produce formal academic outputs (conference/journal publications) and be open-access under a permissive license. Proposals must be submitted in English, in PDF format, and include an applicant profile, a public repository or link to previous work, and a written proposal following the provided template. Multiple submissions are allowed if each proposal is unique.
Benefits
Stipend of $24,000 USD over one year, supplemental to existing stipend. Potential for continuity stipend beyond one year based on project success.
