The European Union Traineeship Program 2026 offers young graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international relations, diplomacy, and policy through a paid traineeship at the EU Delegation to the African Union. This program is designed for recent graduates who wish to understand the workings of an EU diplomatic mission and its engagement with the African Union.
Selected trainees will work within the Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section, supporting various functions related to policy, communication, and diplomacy. This experience is invaluable for those looking to build careers in international development, governance, or Africa-EU relations.
Eligibility
- Must be currently residing in Ethiopia.
- Hold a Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Law, or related social sciences.
- Have less than one year of professional experience post-graduation.
- Fluent in English with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficient in using design/editing platforms like Canva.
- Demonstrate an understanding of African Union politics and governance.
Benefits
- Monthly stipend of approximately €700 to cover living expenses.
