FAO Internship Programme 2026 for Students and Graduates (Paid UN Internship)

The FAO Internship Programme offers motivated students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. This internship is designed to contribute to global efforts to end hunger and improve food security while providing practical learning experiences in FAO-related fields.

Interns will work under the supervision of FAO professionals, supporting various projects aligned with their academic background and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is a unique chance to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting and engage with multicultural teams.

Applicants must be:

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme or be a recent graduate
• Aged 21 to 30 years
• A national of an FAO member country
• Proficient in at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish)
• Studying in a field relevant to FAO’s work
• Demonstrating strong communication skills and adaptability in a multicultural environment.

Interns receive a monthly stipend if not sponsored by another institution.
