The Fulbright African Research Scholar Program (ARSP) supports Malawian scholars in advancing research and academic development through collaboration with U.S.-based institutions. This prestigious program is part of the globally recognized Fulbright Program, promoting mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchange.

The ARSP offers two types of grants: Research Grants for university faculty and research professionals, and Program and Curriculum Development Grants for faculty and administrators. Both grants aim to enhance academic capacity and foster collaboration between African and U.S. institutions.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Malawian citizens or permanent residents and apply under one specific grant category (research or curriculum development). They must demonstrate a clear academic or professional objective and meet the educational qualifications for the selected grant type. Preference is given to those with a letter of invitation from a U.S. host institution.

Benefits

Research Grants (3 to 9 months) and Program Development Grants (3 to 5 months) cover access to U.S. research facilities and opportunities for academic collaboration.
