The AI Ethics & Governance Fellowship is a Pan-African initiative designed to equip leaders with the tools, networks, and practical skills necessary to shape responsible and rights-based AI governance frameworks across the continent. This 3-month fully virtual fellowship brings together policymakers, technologists, researchers, and practitioners to explore AI governance tailored for African contexts.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in building policy tools, engaging in mentorship, and delivering impactful capstone projects. The program emphasizes the importance of local ethical traditions and community perspectives, aiming to develop governance models that are inclusive and relevant to African realities.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Nigerian citizens or Africans residing on the continent
- Willing to commit 6-8 hours weekly for 3 months
- Have reliable internet connectivity and access to a laptop or equivalent device
- Women and youths are strongly encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest or experience in AI, digital policy, ethics, governance, or technology regulation
- Basic digital literacy is required
- Proficiency in English is necessary for program delivery.
