
FUNGAI Africa Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Governance in Africa Fellowship 2026
The 2026 FUNGAI Africa DPI Governance in Africa Fellowship is designed for early-career researchers interested in exploring the intersection of digital public infrastructure and governance in Africa. This fellowship aims to equip participants with the skills to analyze DPI governance through rights-based and social justice frameworks, focusing on marginalized communities. Fellows will engage in bi-weekly virtual seminars and contribute to significant outputs, including a DPI Research Report and advocacy toolkits.
This opportunity is crucial as it addresses the implications of digital infrastructure on democracy and social justice, ensuring that Africa's digital future is built on principles of justice, rights, inclusion, and accountability.
Eligibility
This fellowship is open to early-career researchers, digital rights advocates, and policy thinkers passionate about technology, governance, and justice in Africa. Applicants should be able to commit to a part-time engagement of 15–20 hours per week during the fellowship period.
Benefits
Fellows will receive a stipend of $300 per month for a total of $900 over the three-month fellowship period.
