
Fungai Africa DPI Governance in Africa Fellowship 2026
The Fungai Africa DPI Governance in Africa Fellowship aims to bring together a new generation of African researchers to audit Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) through a human rights and democratic lens. This fellowship is designed for early-career researchers and digital rights advocates who are passionate about technology, governance, and justice in Africa.
Fellows will engage in a structured program over three months, focusing on analyzing DPI governance, investigating its impact on marginalized communities, and translating findings into policy and advocacy outputs. This opportunity not only provides a stipend but also connects participants with a network of digital rights and policy practitioners across Africa.
Eligibility
This fellowship is open to early-career researchers and digital rights advocates from Africa. Applicants should have a passion for technology, governance, and justice. Specific focus countries include Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
