The taz Panter Foundation invites applications for its 2026 journalism training and networking programme aimed at journalists from across Africa. This initiative focuses on the intersection of global geopolitics and local realities, enhancing professional skills and fostering collaboration among journalists.

Participants will engage in a hybrid learning experience that includes a five-month online phase and a 12-day in-person workshop in Berlin and Brussels. The programme aims to equip journalists with the tools needed to critically report on global power dynamics affecting African countries.

Eligibility

This programme is open to journalists from 16 African countries, including Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Applicants must be active journalists in print, television, radio, or online media, demonstrate a strong interest in global affairs, and possess fluency in English. Women journalists are particularly encouraged to apply.

Benefits

Selected journalists will receive full coverage of travel expenses to Berlin and Brussels, accommodation during the in-person phase, an honorarium for contributions to the magazine and podcast, and access to professional networks.
