Global Research Opportunities for the South (GROW) Programme
The GROW programme aims to strengthen research capacity and partnerships across the Global South, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia. It supports development-oriented research and encourages scholars to apply their findings to real-world challenges.
Participants, including doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and established academics, will enhance their expertise and networks through two flexible funding tracks: short-term visits for partnership building and longer research stays in collaboration with German institutions.
Eligibility
Open to scholars from countries on the OECD DAC list, including doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, university lecturers, and established academics. Applicants must be affiliated with a university or research institution in their home country and cannot be based in Germany. Women and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Benefits
Monthly stipends ranging from €1,400 to €2,150, travel allowance, and health, accident, and liability insurance. Additional support may be available for applicants with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
