
GTCR MENA Grant 2026 for Young Scientists in MENA
The GTCR MENA Grant 2026 is a significant research funding opportunity aimed at young PhD-level scientists from selected Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries, as well as eligible diaspora researchers. This program supports transformative projects, research equipment, and collaboration with German research institutions, thereby enhancing scientific productivity in the region.
This grant focuses on strategic research areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and sustainability, aligning with Germany’s High-Tech Agenda. It encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and provides essential resources to strengthen research capacity, particularly in institutions with limited infrastructure.
Eligibility
To apply for the GTCR MENA Grant 2026, applicants must:
- Be nationals of eligible MENA countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen
- Hold a PhD degree
- Be ≤40 years (men) or ≤46 years (women with allowances)
- Be affiliated with an academic/research institution in an eligible country
- Submit a strong research proposal in one of the eligible fields
- Have or establish collaboration with a German research institution
- Provide a Letter of Collaboration from the German partner
- Not hold an active TWAS or OWSD grant.
Women scientists are especially encouraged to apply.
