Humboldt Research Fellowship 2026/2027 for Researchers Worldwide (Fully Funded)
The Humboldt Research Fellowship is now open for applications for the 2026/2027 period, inviting researchers from all nationalities and research areas. This fellowship supports postdoctoral and experienced researchers to conduct their research in Germany, providing individual support and access to a diverse sponsorship portfolio.
With up to 500 awards available each year, the fellowship offers a monthly stipend of €3,000 for postdoctoral researchers and €3,600 for experienced researchers, allowing them to focus on their research projects in collaboration with German institutions.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-German nationals and should not have lived in Germany for more than six months in the 18 months prior to application. A mentoring agreement with a host institution in Germany is required, along with expert reviews and proficiency in German or English, depending on the research area.
