Humboldt Research Fellowship 2026 for Postdocs and Experienced Researchers (Monthly Stipend)
The Humboldt Research Fellowship invites researchers of all nationalities and research areas to conduct their own research in Germany. This prestigious fellowship supports both postdoctoral and experienced researchers with substantial qualifications. The fellowship aims to advance scientific knowledge while fostering the researchers’ individual career paths.
Applications are welcome regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation, with special encouragement for underrepresented groups. The fellowship includes a monthly stipend, family benefits, health insurance, travel support, and language courses.
Eligibility
Postdocs must have completed their doctorate within the last four years, while experienced researchers should have completed their doctorate within the last twelve years or hold an equivalent academic leadership role. A strong publication record and academic excellence are required.

Benefits
Postdocs receive €3,000/month for 6–24 months; experienced researchers receive €3,600/month for 6–18 months. Additional support includes family benefits, health insurance, travel expenses, and language courses.
