The IGF 2026 Fellowship Programme aims to develop capacity in Internet governance for professionals from developing countries. Selected fellows will work closely with the IGF Secretariat, gaining hands-on experience in various activities related to Internet governance, including research and organizational support for the annual IGF meeting.

This fellowship is crucial for enhancing the participation of skilled professionals from least developed and transitional economies in global Internet governance discussions, ultimately contributing to the effectiveness of development aid in these regions.

Eligibility

Open to all stakeholders from developing countries, least developed countries (LDCs), landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), and transitional economies. Applicants should have relevant professional experience or academic background in Internet governance or related fields.

Benefits

The fellowship is financed through the IGF Trust Fund and processed by UN DESA, covering all necessary expenses related to the fellowship.
