India RISE Fellowship 2026 for Early-Career Women Scientists (Empowerment in STEMM)
The India RISE Fellowship is a transformative 12-month programme aimed at strengthening the research, leadership, and mentorship capacity of early-career women scientists in India. Developed under the Johns Hopkins University through the Gupta-Klinsky India Institute, this initiative is part of the U.S.-India Alliance for Women’s Economic Empowerment. The fellowship addresses systemic gender inequities in STEMM by creating pathways for women scientists to grow, lead, and influence research and policy.
Participants engage in a part-time, hybrid programme that allows them to continue their professional roles while participating in intensive learning activities. The fellowship includes structured research training, leadership workshops, a capstone project, and personalized development plans, all designed to empower women scientists and promote systemic change in research ecosystems.
