
Kwame Karikari Fact-Checking and OSINT Fellowship 2026
The Kwame Karikari Fact-Checking and OSINT Fellowship is designed for journalists aiming to enhance their skills in fact-checking and open-source intelligence (OSINT). Established in 2019, this fellowship addresses the urgent need to combat misinformation and promote media accountability in West Africa. Participants will engage in a three-day intensive bootcamp, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have their work published on prominent platforms.
This fellowship not only empowers journalists with essential skills but also fosters a culture of verification across the media landscape. By participating, fellows will contribute to the fight against misinformation while gaining visibility and support for their work.
Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time employees of a media organization (television, radio, print, or digital) and citizens residing in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, or The Gambia. They should possess exceptional writing skills, experience in fact-checking or investigative journalism, and a willingness to engage fully in the fellowship activities. Female journalists and those fluent in indigenous languages are particularly encouraged to apply.
