Marianne Initiative Fellowship 2027 for Human Rights Defenders (Fully Funded)
The Marianne Initiative Fellowship is a fully funded six-month program in Paris, France, designed for active human rights defenders from around the world. Participants will engage in training focused on leadership, advocacy, safety, and international human rights law while living in France from January to June 2027. This fellowship not only provides a living stipend and accommodation but also offers a unique opportunity to build a global network of like-minded individuals.
This program, initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to support those who bravely defend human rights in their home countries. After completing the fellowship, participants will join the Marianne Alumni network, ensuring ongoing support and connection with fellow defenders.
Eligibility
Applicants must be human rights defenders with experience in civil liberties, women’s rights, minority rights, or environmental justice. Candidates can be from any country and should demonstrate a commitment to using the skills gained to benefit their communities. A full six-month stay in France is required.
Benefits
The fellowship covers living stipend, accommodation, training, and cultural activities during the six-month stay in Paris.
