The Megatrends Afrika Fellowships provide a unique opportunity for African researchers to engage in interdisciplinary research focused on Africa. Awarded by three renowned German research institutions, these fellowships allow selected candidates to lead independent research projects aligned with the Megatrends Afrika agenda, contributing to policy-oriented research and strategic advice for policymakers.

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of €2,800, reimbursement for flights, and additional allowances for local expenses. This fellowship not only supports research but also fosters collaboration with expert teams and access to institutional resources in Germany.

Eligibility

Applicants must be nationals of an African country and hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in relevant fields such as political science, economics, or social sciences. A strong publication record and demonstrated research expertise are essential. Experience in providing scientific policy advice is advantageous but not mandatory.

Benefits

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of €2,800, reimbursement for an economy-class round-trip flight, and allowances for local public transportation and other incidental expenses.
