METI Japan Internship Program 2026 for Foreign Professionals (Fully Funded)
The METI Japan Internship Program 2026 offers talented international students and graduates the chance to gain professional work experience in Japan. Participants will work with Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhancing their professional skills and building valuable connections for future career opportunities.
This fully funded internship includes options for both online and in-person formats, allowing participants to choose the best fit for their circumstances while gaining hands-on experience in a real workplace environment.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Citizens of eligible OECD/DAC countries (except China)
- Aged between 18 and 39 years as of August 24, 2026
- Final-year university students or university graduates
- Proficient in Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher) or have strong English skills
- Willing to fully participate in all internship activities and training sessions.
Benefits
The program covers daily allowances, round-trip airfare, accommodation, transportation support, and comprehensive insurance. Online participants receive a daily allowance and necessary equipment.
