The Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) 2026 is a fully funded opportunity aimed at equipping young West Africans with practical experience, leadership skills, and exposure to the civil society sector. Hosted by WACSI, this programme offers a six-month immersive internship experience in Accra, Ghana, focusing on capacity development, policy influencing, and advocacy.

Participants will gain hands-on professional experience, mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop essential skills to tackle development challenges in the region. This programme is designed for fresh graduates or early-career professionals looking to make an impact in civil society and development work.

Eligibility

To apply, you must be a young West African (fresh graduate or early-career professional) with 0–3 years of professional experience. A degree in fields such as International Affairs, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or Development Studies is required. Strong interest in civil society and development work, along with good research, communication, and analytical skills, is essential. Applicants must be willing to commit fully to the six-month programme in Ghana.
