The Nova Media Fellowship 2026–2027 is a prestigious, fully funded program designed to support exceptional journalists and nonprofit newsrooms reporting on health and well-being. This fellowship empowers storytellers to produce impactful, evidence-based journalism that advances public understanding and inspires meaningful change.
Selected Media Fellows will receive a $60,000 grant distributed over 12 months, along with additional travel and conference stipends. The fellowship emphasizes editorial independence, allowing fellows to define their storytelling approach and engage with broad audiences on pressing global issues.
Eligibility
To apply, you must be a professional journalist with a proven track record of publication, or part of a nonprofit or student-led newsroom. Applicants must reside in the United States throughout the fellowship period. Nova encourages applications from historically underrepresented communities in media, including women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and Indigenous communities.
