NRF-SSHRC South Africa-Canada Seed Grant 2026 for Researchers (Up to CAD $100,000)
The NRF-SSHRC South Africa-Canada Seed Grant supports collaborative research initiatives between South Africa and Canada. Eligible projects will receive funding of up to CAD $100,000 over a period of 24 to 36 months, starting in 2026. This initiative is crucial for enhancing research collaboration and addressing mutual interests in social sciences and humanities.
Eligibility
Canada: Canadian Principal Investigators (PIs) must be affiliated with a postsecondary institution that holds institutional eligibility.
South Africa: Researchers must be full-time employees or on fixed-term contracts at eligible South African universities or universities of technology.
Benefits
Funding of up to CAD $100,000 over 2 years, with a possible one-year no-cost extension.
