NRF-SSHRC South Africa-Canada Seed Grant 2026 for Researchers (Up to CAD $100,000)
The NRF-SSHRC South Africa-Canada Seed Grant supports collaborative research initiatives between South Africa and Canada. This program aims to build capacity, foster partnerships, and develop networks among the research communities of both countries. Eligible projects will receive funding of up to CAD $100,000 over a period of 24 to 36 months, starting in 2026. This initiative is crucial for enhancing research collaboration and addressing mutual interests in social sciences and humanities.
Eligibility
Canada: Canadian Principal Investigators (PIs) must be affiliated with a postsecondary institution that holds institutional eligibility.
South Africa: Researchers must be full-time employees or on fixed-term contracts at eligible South African universities or universities of technology.
Benefits
Funding of up to CAD $100,000 over 2 years, with a possible one-year no-cost extension.
