The Obel Teaching Fellowship 2026 offers professionals the opportunity to transition from practice to teaching by developing and delivering a university-level course. This fellowship emphasizes practical teaching, allowing fellows to engage directly with students and contribute to a shared archive of course materials and outcomes.
With a focus on the theme Systems’ Hack, the fellowship encourages applicants to explore how architecture interacts with various systems that shape daily life. This is a chance for experienced professionals to reflect on their knowledge and pass it on in a structured academic environment.
Eligibility
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Must relate to the built environment (architecture, urban design, etc.).
- Applications must be made in partnership with an accredited academic institution.
- Ability to develop and teach a course aligned with the OBEL theme.
- Must be available to teach in person at the host institution.
- Not currently a faculty member or regular staff at the host institution.
Benefits
- Grant of up to €75,000 covering salary, travel, teaching materials, and related costs.
- Up to 15% allocated for institutional overhead and support.
