The Ocean Futures Fellowship is designed to empower emerging ocean professionals by equipping them with the skills and experience needed to tackle critical ocean challenges while advancing their careers. This six-month, full-time program offers a blend of training, educational projects, professional development, and mentorship, allowing fellows to gain hands-on experience and build advanced capabilities.

Aligned with the goals of the UN Ocean Decade and SDG 14 (Life Below Water), the fellowship aims to nurture a new generation of ocean leaders who can drive innovation and promote ocean awareness worldwide. Participants will receive a stipend and may have the opportunity to travel aboard the OceanXplorer vessel as part of their experience.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, authorized to work in their country of residence, and available for full-time commitment from June to December 2026. A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with relevant experience or a strong interest in one of the fellowship tracks. English proficiency at C2 level or equivalent and a working knowledge of AI and emerging technologies are also necessary.

Benefits

Monthly stipend provided for full-time participation; no additional coverage for housing or personal expenses. A technology stipend may be offered in select cases.
