
Open Call for the Albert Einstein Fellowship Program
The Albert Einstein Fellowship Program invites applications from young thinkers under 35 to pursue interdisciplinary projects outside their previous research fields. Fellows receive a five- to six-month residency at Einstein’s summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg, a EUR 10,000 stipend, travel reimbursement, and the opportunity to present their project publicly at the Einstein Forum.
This fellowship encourages interdisciplinary exploration and innovation by supporting individuals who show intellectual curiosity, originality, and openness to new approaches beyond their specialization. It fosters interaction across fields and promotes novel ways of thinking.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be under 35 years of age
- Hold a university degree in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences
- Propose a project that is substantially different in content, and preferably in field and form, from their previous work
- Not be seeking support for ongoing academic studies or dissertation research
- Demonstrate originality, quality, and feasibility in the project proposal
Holding or pursuing a PhD is not required.
Benefits
The fellowship includes a EUR 10,000 stipend for the fellowship period and travel reimbursement covering travel to and from the fellowship site.
