
PAYA Youth Council 2026–27: Paid Leadership Opportunity for Youth Apprentices
The PAYA Youth Council 2026–27 is a unique paid leadership development program for young apprentices organized by New America under the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA). This year-long program brings together current and former youth apprentices to collaborate on projects aimed at improving and expanding apprenticeship opportunities. Participants will receive leadership training, mentorship, and the chance to influence real policy and advocacy efforts related to youth employment and education.
This opportunity not only offers a stipend of $1,650 but also includes a fully funded trip to Washington, DC for a final summit. Participants will engage in monthly virtual meetings, collaborate on projects, and develop essential leadership, communication, and advocacy skills. The program is designed to empower young people to shape the future of apprenticeship pathways.
Eligibility
- Age between 16 and 24 years (as of June 2026)
- Current or recent participant in a PAYA Network youth apprenticeship
- Ability to attend monthly virtual meetings
- Commitment to the full program duration
- Availability to attend the in-person summit in Washington, DC
Benefits
