PHACS RISE Early Career Investigator Award 2026 for U.S.-Based Researchers (Up to $75K Funding)
The PHACS RISE Early Career Investigator Award is designed to support early-stage investigators pursuing a career in HIV-related research. This initiative aims to improve the health of individuals living with or impacted by HIV by investigating HIV-related outcomes and reproductive health.
Eligible projects should be feasible within 1-2 years and align with PHACS RISE priority areas. This award encourages the use of existing PHACS data and repository samples, providing a unique opportunity for researchers to contribute to significant health outcomes.
Eligibility
Applicants must be U.S.-based, hold a master’s, doctoral, or MD (or equivalent), and be within 10 years of their terminal degree. They must identify at least one PHACS RISE–affiliated mentor. Those at associate professor rank or higher, or who have served as PI on a research or mentored award (NIH K-level, R21, R01, or equivalent), are not eligible.
Benefits
Budget requests may not exceed $75K in direct costs over the project period.
