This prestigious fellowship recognizes outstanding scholars who contribute to public life through innovative research and public engagement.
Each year, the Foundation awards up to four fellowships, providing recipients with research funding, leadership opportunities, and support to deepen the societal impact of their work. The fellowship is intended for full professors or academics near that rank at Canadian universities, focusing on impactful research and leadership development.
Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Hold a full-time tenured appointment at a Canadian university
- Be a full professor or near the rank of full professor
- Have a national or international academic reputation
- Conduct research in social sciences or humanities related to the Foundation’s themes
- Propose an innovative and socially significant research project
- Demonstrate commitment to supporting graduate students
- Have a record of academic excellence, such as grants, awards, or leadership roles
- Be an effective communicator willing to engage with society beyond academia.

Benefits
The fellowship package includes:
