Research Foundation for Electricity and Mobile Communication Funding
The Research Foundation for Electricity and Mobile Communication (FSM) offers funding for research projects through a two-stage evaluation process. Applicants first submit a short pre-proposal, which is reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Successful applicants are then invited to develop a full proposal for further evaluation. This process ensures that funding decisions are based solely on scientific criteria, independent of external influences.
The FSM generally covers personnel costs and extraordinary expenses related to field investigations. With an average funding volume of CHF 100,000 to 200,000, the foundation has supported over 55 projects since its inception in 2000, totaling CHF 6.7 million in funding.
Eligibility
Researchers and institutions conducting scientific research in relevant fields can apply. All necessary approvals for conducting research must be obtained by the project proposers.
Deadline: 30 June annually for pre-proposals; mid-October for full proposals
Benefits
Funding generally covers personnel costs and extraordinary expenses for field investigations. Standard equipment is not financed. Doctoral salaries must be budgeted at the institution's standard rates.
