Restitution and Reparation: Africa and the Post-Colonial Condition Fellowship
The Africa Institute, in collaboration with the Open Society Foundations, invites scholars and practitioners to apply for the fellowship program themed 'Restitution and Reparation: Africa and the Post-Colonial Condition.' This initiative aims to foster dialogue and research on restitution and repatriation issues concerning African art and artefacts, contributing to meaningful progress in returning looted artefacts to their rightful homes in Africa.
The fellowship will run over three academic semesters from September 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, hosting three expert fellows at various career stages. This program aligns with The Africa Institute’s mission to promote critical thinking and dialogue around African and African diaspora studies, advancing essential conversations about cultural heritage and historical accountability.
