
RGS-IBG Postgraduate Research Awards
The RGS-IBG Postgraduate Research Awards offer grants of up to £2,500 for PhD students conducting fieldwork and data collection to enhance geographical knowledge. Established in 2008, these awards are designed to support students who may not have full funding from other sources, helping them to establish their careers in geography.
These awards include various named grants such as the Albert Reckitt Awards and the Hong Kong Research Grants. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-March 2026, and fieldwork should not commence before 1 April 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be registered at a UK Higher Education Institution. Preference is given to those who do not receive full funding from a research council, university, or similar sources for their fieldwork.
Benefits
