The Switzerland WTO Young Professionals Programme (YPP) 2026/2027 is a unique opportunity for early career professionals from developing countries to gain experience in global trade policy. This one-year paid fellowship is designed for candidates with a master's degree and at least two years of relevant work experience. Participants will work directly in operational divisions within the WTO in Geneva, contributing to significant trade policy initiatives.

This programme not only provides a competitive salary and benefits but also aims to diversify representation within international organizations, particularly focusing on candidates from underrepresented nations in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the WTO Young Professionals Programme, applicants must:

  • Be from a WTO member country, with preference given to underrepresented nations.
  • Hold a master's degree in law, economics, or a trade-related field.
  • Have at least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Be 32 years old or younger at the start of the programme.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is advantageous.

Benefits

Participants receive a monthly salary of CHF 4,000, medical insurance, and coverage for travel costs to and from Geneva.
