Taiwan Offering 2027 Fellowships With NT$60,000 Award for International Researchers
The 2027 MOFA Taiwan Fellowship is designed for established academics and researchers focusing on Taiwan-related studies, cross-strait relations, and Asia-Pacific affairs. This program, now in its third decade, has supported over 1,500 scholars from 93 countries, making it a significant opportunity for those looking to deepen their research in Taiwan.
Fellows can expect a structured residency lasting from three to twelve months, with a monthly stipend of NT$50,000 to NT$60,000, depending on their academic rank. This fellowship not only provides financial support but also facilitates access to Taiwanese resources and institutions essential for impactful research.
Eligibility
Applicants must be professors, associate professors, assistant professors, or post-doctoral researchers at a university or equivalent institution. Doctoral candidates enrolled in relevant programs are also eligible. The fellowship is not intended for recent graduates or students at the master's level. Research must focus on Taiwan, cross-strait politics, or related fields.
Benefits
Monthly stipend of NT$50,000–60,000, round-trip economy-class airfare to Taiwan, and accident and medical insurance coverage up to NT$1 million. Note that there is no separate housing allowance or family support.
