
Traineeship in Multilateral Diplomacy Programme
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) offers a traineeship opportunity within its Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This traineeship is designed for students and recent graduates interested in gaining professional experience in a multicultural environment and enhancing their understanding of the United Nations system.
Selected trainees will work full-time for three months, with the possibility of extending up to six months. While the traineeship is unpaid, participants will receive a monthly lump sum of CHF 900 to cover transportation and miscellaneous costs.
Eligibility
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree in fields such as international relations, education, history, law, political science, or languages, or be a recent graduate (within two years of graduation) from the aforementioned disciplines. Strong organizational and time-management skills, experience in organizing field visits or online training programmes, and excellent social and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of the United Nations system and international affairs is essential.
Language Requirements:
- Required: Excellent oral and written English
- Desirable: Knowledge of French and/or Mandarin Chinese
