
Tucher Fellowship 2026 for Doctoral Candidates (Monthly Stipend of €1,500)
The Tucher Fellowship is awarded every two years to a doctoral candidate for research on German art and cultural history, with a focus on the Tucher family. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for international scholars to conduct research at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of €1,500 and have access to the museum's facilities and support from curatorial staff. The fellowship includes a six-month research stay, with the earliest start date being 1 April 2027.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a master's degree (or equivalent) with high marks, be a candidate for a doctoral degree, and possess very good knowledge of the German language. Applications from abroad are prioritized.
Benefits
Monthly stipend of €1,500; travel allowance can be requested.
