The TWAS-CSIR Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 is designed for young scientists from developing countries who wish to conduct postdoctoral research in India. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity to work in CSIR research laboratories and institutes, enhancing research experience in various fields of science and technology.
Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to cover living costs, food, and health insurance, along with subsidized accommodation, making their stay in India more manageable. The program is conducted in English and spans up to four years.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Under 35 years of age by 31 December 2026.
- Nationals of a developing country other than India.
- Not holding a visa for temporary or permanent residency in India or any developed country.
- Holders of a Master’s degree in science and technology.
- Regularly employed in their home country with a research assignment.
- Able to secure acceptance from a CSIR laboratory or institution.
- Proficient in English if it was not the medium of their education.
- Committed to returning to their home country after the fellowship.
