The UGO Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications for its 2026 cohort, aimed at young Africans passionate about leadership and sustainable development in the green economy. This three-month intensive program focuses on building ethical, innovative, and impact-driven leaders across the continent through a blend of academic learning and practical engagement.
Participants will explore key areas such as personal development, ethical leadership, social entrepreneurship, and sustainability. A unique aspect of the fellowship includes a cross-border exchange experience, allowing fellows to engage with diverse cultures and broaden their global perspectives.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be citizens of Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, or Zimbabwe.
- Be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application.
- Be currently enrolled in a university program related to sustainability or the green economy.
- Have a minimum academic average of 60%.
- Not have traveled outside their country of birth.
- Be willing to travel locally and internationally.
- Have no criminal record.
- Be available for the full duration of the program.
- Demonstrate a disadvantaged background (supported by affidavit or letter from a traditional authority).
- Have access to a digital device and reliable internet connection.
