UK Research and InnovationGlobalFellowshipsDeadline: Posted

The UKRI Policy Fellowships 2026 offer a unique opportunity for academics to transition knowledge and skills between the academic and policy sectors. Over an 18-month period, fellows will engage in one of three fellowship types: Core Policy, What Works Innovation, or Natural Hazards and Resilience, each aimed at addressing significant national and global challenges.

With funding ranging from £180,000 to £280,000, this fellowship supports innovative approaches to policy-making, allowing fellows to collaborate with a select group of host partners. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the field of policy research and development.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a doctorate or demonstrate equivalent research experience. They should have relevant subject matter expertise and a commitment to transferring knowledge across academic and policy sectors. Enrollment in a doctorate program is not sufficient to meet the eligibility criteria.

Benefits

UKRI will fund 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) of the project, which can be up to £180,000 for Core Policy fellowships, £220,000 for What Works Innovation fellowships, and £280,000 for Natural Hazards and Resilience fellowships.
