The UN Food Systems Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) is a global initiative aimed at empowering young leaders to transform food systems. This programme offers participants the chance to develop leadership skills, engage in peer learning, and connect with a global network of changemakers committed to sustainable development.

Participants will benefit from mentorship, expert-led sessions, and collaborative projects, all designed to enhance their impact on food security, nutrition, and climate resilience. This is a unique opportunity for young professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates to shape the future of food systems worldwide.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be proficient in English
  • Be nationals of low- or middle-income countries, particularly in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, or Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Demonstrate experience in food systems, sustainable development, climate action, or related fields
  • Have experience leading or contributing to initiatives within their community, organization, institution, or sector
  • Be committed to participating fully in programme activities through 2028.
