The UNAIDS Internship Programme 2026 offers aspiring professionals a unique opportunity to contribute to global health initiatives aimed at achieving zero new HIV infections, discrimination, and AIDS-related deaths. Interns will gain practical experience in a dynamic international environment while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Internships are available across multiple duty stations and can be conducted either in person or remotely, depending on the needs of the hosting division. This programme serves as an entry point for individuals seeking exposure to international development, public health, and policy work within the United Nations system.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in or graduated from an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programme at a recognized institution within the past 12 months.
  • At least 20 years old at the time of application.
  • Proficient in at least one official UNAIDS/WHO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).

Previous participants in the UNAIDS internship programme are not eligible to reapply.
