The UNDP African Academy for Women in Political Leadership 2026 is a fully funded initiative aimed at empowering emerging and established women leaders across Africa. This program provides the tools, networks, and strategic knowledge necessary for women to thrive in political leadership and public governance. Participants will gain world-class training and mentorship, essential for increasing women's representation in politics and decision-making spaces.
This inaugural high-level leadership program combines online training with in-person engagement, allowing participants to develop practical political leadership skills while building networks with peers and mentors. The academy reflects a commitment to enhancing women's participation in governance and democratic institutions across Africa.
Eligibility
This program is open to women across Africa who are currently serving in politics, preparing to run for office, or actively engaged in governance and advocacy.
Benefits
Selected participants will receive full tuition coverage, travel support, accommodation during the residential component, access to virtual learning sessions, and mentorship from prominent African women leaders.
