WACSI Next Generation Internship Programme 2026 for Young Professionals (Fully Funded)
The Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) is designed to equip emerging leaders with practical skills in civil society work, policy engagement, and programme management. This fully funded internship offers young professionals across West Africa a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development sector, immersing them in WACSI’s core areas such as capacity development, policy influencing, and knowledge management.
Launched in 2008, the NGIP has become a recognized pathway for early-career professionals to transition from academic knowledge into real-world impact. Interns will be integrated into ongoing projects, allowing them to build technical expertise while contributing to meaningful initiatives that strengthen civil society organizations across West Africa.

Applicants must be from Nigeria, Guinea, Niger, or Togo and hold at least a first degree in fields such as international affairs, political science, public policy, law, or development studies. Candidates should demonstrate a clear interest in civil society and non-profit management and be recent graduates or early-career professionals. Preference is given to multilingual candidates proficient in English, French, or Portuguese, with knowledge of an additional language.
Benefits
The internship covers round-trip flights, furnished accommodation (where applicable), daily lunch during working days, and a monthly stipend.
