WCRP 2024 Global South Fellowship: focus on Africa
The WCRP 2024 Global South Fellowship is designed for early to mid-career researchers from Africa to develop their own climate research activities. This fellowship aims to enhance climate research in the region by supporting transformative projects that address critical gaps in African climate research.
Successful candidates will undertake their fellowship project full-time at a host institution, contributing to climate action and building a community of practice. The fellowship is an opportunity to catalyze impactful research and create a legacy for future African researchers.
Eligibility
Applicants must be early to mid-career researchers based in Africa, defined as active researchers up to 12 years after receiving their PhD (excluding parental and care leave). Proposals must be supported by a host institution.
Benefits
The fellowship provides CHF 50K to support the salary of one researcher, travel support to relevant meetings, and the purchase of an approved laptop. Institutional overhead can be negotiated, but no equipment costs are covered.
