WHO Climate and SRH Research Grants
The World Health Organization (WHO), through its Special Programme of Research in Human Reproduction (HRP), invites research proposals that explore community experiences in adapting to climate change in relation to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). This initiative aims to generate community-centered evidence on the impacts of climate change on SRHR and promote participatory research approaches, positioning communities as co-researchers.
The call prioritizes four key SRHR outcome areas: Maternal Health, Gender-Based Violence, Contraception, and Abortion Care. Selected proposals will receive funding to implement research that addresses local evidence gaps and informs policy development, particularly National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).
Eligibility
This call is open to institutions in low- and middle-income countries, including community and civil society organizations, NGOs, academic and research institutions, and multi-institutional consortia. Teams should demonstrate experience in SRHR or climate-related research and include at least one researcher skilled in qualitative research.
Benefits
Each selected team will receive up to USD 55,000 to implement the research, which may cover personnel and community researcher stipends, data collection, and other related expenses.
