
WTO Young Professionals Programme 2027 for Developing Country Nationals (Paid Internship)
The WTO Young Professionals Programme (YPP) for 2027 is a competitive one-year professional development opportunity aimed at developing future leaders in international trade policy and global economic governance. This programme is specifically designed for young professionals from WTO Member countries with limited or no representation within the WTO Secretariat, promoting inclusivity and participation from developing and least developed countries in multilateral trade institutions.
Participants will gain direct exposure to WTO operations, contributing to real policy work while developing technical expertise and international experience in trade-related fields. The programme also supports long-term career pathways in the WTO or other global/regional organizations.
Eligibility
Applicants must be nationals of WTO Member countries with:
- An advanced university degree in relevant fields (e.g., economics, international relations, law, environmental studies).
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas related to WTO work or international trade policy.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage.
Priority is given to candidates from countries with little or no representation within the WTO Secretariat, particularly from developing and least developed countries.

Benefits
Participants receive a monthly stipend of CHF 4,000 during the programme.
